Erin Mahoney Harrisis a mother, writer, and aspiring homesteader living in Santa Monica. She maintains an urban microfarm at home, growing an edible garden in an assortment of beds and containers and keeping quail for eggs. She and the kids would love to get a milking goat, but the neighbors aren't too keen on the idea. Ditto for beekeeping, although she hasn't given up on that dream just yet.
